FOR EVERYONE'S INFORMATION
We do not require proof of vaccination. We do however, ask if you are feeling unwell, have a cold, COVID, gastroenteritis or anything in between, we ask that you stay home, rest up, get well and visit us again soon. If you have joined us at a meeting or on an outing and fall ill within the week or so following, please contact us so that we can advise other members.
For further information please refer to Government websites’.
We have monthly meetings which might consist of sharing knowledge, learning from experts in the field of photography, hands-on workshops, tutorials or competitions. Competitions may be digital or print and can cover a range of topics. Competitions can cover landscapes, portraits, Bokeh, inanimate objects and more .
We love our monthly outings which are usually between 2-4 hours including a cuppa. While out and about we can get hands-on with cameras and put our knowledge and skills to the test. Our outings might be a walk along a winding bush trail or in the local park, a special event i.e. fireworks or a collaboration with another photography club.
As a member of our photography club you automatically have membership with the West Australian Photographic Federation Inc. (WAPF)and access to events, competitions and more.
We have a supportive connection with Camera House Midland for printing, framing and much more.
We have the occasional day outing, often with opportunities to get behind the scenes. On a day visit to the Sway Valley we started with breakfast at the Swan Valley Cafe, then on to a demonstration of metal forging with Antonio Battistessa. Next stop Tyler's Vineyard, for some photography, and wine tasting for those who wished to indulge. The Tyler family also set up a lovely table for us to have our lunch. Then more photography around the valley finishing with afternoon tea.
Once a year our club hosts a weekend away. Some of our weekend destinations have been Margaret River, Guilderton, Fairbridge Village and Albany and this year Manjimup and surrounds.
We have the opportunity to collaborate with other clubs and sometimes we take advantage of this and visit their home location and if we are lucky we get to go somewhere that we haven't been before.
Through the WAPF a photography club hosts a weekend away each year. Sometimes in the country (Jurien bay 2022) and sometimes in the city . As members of this club we can take advantage of this opportunity and spend a great weekend learning and sharing with many other clubs and their members.
